Import DAX file

Overview: The Import DAX file dialog allows the user to import a .DAX file as a data source into the new .dax document.

 

Accessing: The dialog can be accessed by selecting the DAX button located in the Other Data Sources group, under the Home tab.

 

import_dax_file

 

•File Path - the path where the file is located.
•The imported .dax file can be referenced either Relative or Absolute. It cannot be referenced Relative if the current .dax document is not saved.
•Embed File - the .dax file to be imported can be embedded into the current .dax file, that is, it's content will be inserted into the current file, offering the user more portability.
•The Select Encoding Type and Select Charset options can not be set when importing a .dax file.
