Before you start using the Publisher it is important for you to understand some of the basic terminology used when discussing template design. You might be new to the process to produce dynamic and professional documents. To get the conversation started, we have provided helpful links below so you can begin understanding some common terminology.

Template - This helpful section describes what a template is and how it is used to produce the outputs you need.

Layout - Layouts define pagination options such as page orientation, size, and side region content.

Page Set - Use page sets to structure your document content for dynamic display such as repeating pages, conditional pages, and more.

Dashboard - Because the Publisher can use components designed in the BI Architect, this section helps you learn about what these objects are.

Widget - These are the visual objects that make up a dashboard, and you can insert them into your template if you are using the BI Server.
