Export Templates to XSL and generate PDF

The user can generate and preview the PDF output by pressing CTRL+F5 (or by clicking the Preview PDF command button from the Generate group, under the Home tab).

Behind the scenes, XF Designer 2013 will first convert the XF template to a XSL stylesheet. The stylesheet is then used in a XSL transformation, together with the assigned XML. The result is XSL-FO which then is processed by the XF renderer to PDF.

When ready to deploy the templates on the server, there are two options:

•

If XF Rendering Server is used, XF templates can be directly used.

•

If other rendering engines are used, first, the XSL template must be generated and then the document can be rendered to the desired output.
