The Design Surface is the dedicated region in the BI Publisher that you will use add and remove content, adjust alignment and formatting, and perform all of your template design needs.  This is the largest region on the screen and will display what your template will look like as you design.  The Design Surface looks like a page of your document, and you can scroll as you continue to add page sets and additional content.
